Harassment Policy*

Updated April 15th, 2014

LogiCon is dedicated to providing a harassment-free conference experience for everyone regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Conference participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund at the discretion of the conference organizers.

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments [related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religious identity], deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention. Assuming the absence of problematic behavior (intimidation, following, inappropriate physical contact, etc.), criticism or disagreement regarding an attendee’s belief structure will not be construed as harassment. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

Additionally, exhibitors in the expo hall, sponsor or vendor booths, or similar activities are also subject to the anti-harassment policy. Booth staff (including volunteers) should not use sexualized clothing/uniforms/costumes, or otherwise create a sexualized environment.

While LogiCon does encourage an environment of sex positivity where sex and sexuality are discussed, we will make every effort to make our convention attendees as comfortable as possible.

If a participant engages in harassing behavior, the conference organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the conference with no refund of any donations. If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of conference staff immediately. LogiCon also encourages attendees to report any criminal behavior directly to the Fayetteville Police, as well as to LogiCon staff.

Conference staff will be happy to help participants contact hotel/venue security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the conference. We value your attendance.

May I use this on my FB page? I have been harassed about “stolen art” but didn’t do anything wrong. They wanted me to credit the artists by going to every picture and finding the artist and going back and crediting them on each photo in the comments and I went to the description box and put THANK YOU TO ALL THE ARTISTS FOR THE ART ON THIS PAGE :) in the description box and they wouldn’t stop. They said their page’s art was made by someone who helps their page and they didn’t credit them. Please and thank you ~ Kovu K.
